Artificial Grass Installation
Please take a moment to read and see the slide show below on how we install our american made turf product and see why we stand out from everybody else…
1. SYNTHETIC LAWN DESIGN AND PLANNING
the owner will assist you with your design and plan in an effort to come up with a clear picture as to your overall vision and goals for your project. The design and diagram will determine the scope of the project. During this process we will also be looking to create as few seams as possible, but don’t worry we have a unique seaming process that will provide for a much more real looking lawn upon completion.
At this point we will be able to provide you with an accurate estimate in regards to your investment. We can continue to alter the scope until we meet your project needs. Once the design is finalized we will use the diagram to figure out the appropriate quantities of material to be use..
Before the demolition can commence, all utilities (electrical, gas, water, etc.) including all sprinklers must be properly located to eliminate unnecessary problems. Depending on the customer’s preference, the sprinkler system can be capped for use at a later point in time, or we can completely remove it altogether. Any additions or changes to the existing utilities must be accounted for at this time.
A bob-cat (where applicable) will be used to demolish your existing soft-scape and/or hard-scape surface. In areas where the bob-cat cannot access, or if a bob-cat is not necessary, other demolition tools be used to remove the hard-scape and/or soft-scape. Saw-cutting may be necessary along areas where the foundation is protruding into the usable space in the front, back or side-yard areas.
We will excavate 3 to 4 inches from final grade.
5. GRADING & DRAINAGE
At this point if drains need to be installed, this is the time to do so as well as account for proper water-flow away from your house. ( normally you don’t need to ad any drainage system unless you really need one.)
6. INSTALL BORDER (BENDER BOARD OR MOW-STRIP)
For aesthetics and structural integrity of the perimeter, we will install a 2×4 a bender board ( concrete mow strip, pavers or brick can also be install at owner’s request for an additional cost )., After the new bender board has been installed we will ad a 2×2 nailer board inside and attached the new bender board..
7. SUB-BASE MATERIALS & COMPACTING
We will use 3″ of 3/4″ crush rocks as primary sub-base, this will make the area permeable and will help turf drain better and faster, then we will use 1/2″ of 1/4″ crush aggregate, both will be compacted down to about 95% down..
8. WEED BARRIER
After sub-base has been compacted and graded properly we will use mira drain fabric , this will work better for weed protection and for water filtration as landscape fabric will only stop weeds but will prevent water from daring properly through causing floods or water paddles in the turf…
9. TURF INSTALLATION & SEAMING
Once the artifical turf has been perfectly laid out and all the excess material has been trimmed, we are now ready to seam the pieces together. It is important to make sure that all the rolls of grass are laid in the same direction, so that the blades all point the same way.
There are several seaming techniques, and the actual technique we used includes utilizing 12″ seaming tape nail in the ground with 6″ nails in conjunction with our special turf glue, we do an S shape seaming which allow us to make the turf pieces look like a single piece and we guaranty no Seaming showing at all, Once the seams have been completed, the final trimming can take place along all the seams and edges of the grass.
13. BORDER TURF PREPARATION
To properly secure the TURF EDGES we nail every 2 inches with roofing nails the turf edges on the nailer board already installed, this will keep your turf on places and more secure on the edges to prevent kids or even pets lifting the edges avoiding big nails popping up…
14. INFILL INSTALLATION
The infill we apply is used to help weigh down the turf, assist with blade recovery, soften the feel under your feet, other benefits (i.e. antimicrobial, prevents degradation, reduced heat consumption/overheating). the amount of infill to be install on your new artificial grass lawn will depend on the specific synthetic lawn you choose., we also ad a pet organic infill deodorizer when installed for a dog run or pets usage…
